Joe Miller

Joe Miller`s resume is extensive and his lifelong love and vast knowledge of horses and mules is evident anytime he is around them. At age 71 Joe still breaks and trains his own horses and mules for riding, driving, cutting, roping and lately even to do tricks.
This man is a Horseman in every sense of the word, he has experience with most breeds of horses, draft horses and mules. When it comes to driving teams, Joe has done it all. He has driven stage coaches pulled by a six-up of horses for major events with Barbara Mandrel, Mel Tillis, Festus, Roy Clark, Jimmy Dean, Don Williams and many other celebrities. He also owned and operated a carriage service in downtown Oklahoma City for many years and was the wagonmaster for several wagon trains from Caldwell, KS to Guthrie OK, and from Higgins TX to Oklahoma City distances of 180-220 miles. Joe estimates having owned over 100 teams of horses and mules during his lengthy career as a teamster and when asked how many horses he has broke his reply was, "A heck of a bunch."
Joe and his wife Darlene leave their home in New Castle, OK to spend a month or two with us every summer and have helped us immensely with the trail ride and the carriage ride aspects of our business. We have learned a lot from this old cowboy and we sure appreciate having them around.
